Coopersburg, PA (September 6th, 2018) – Lighting and shade control leader Lutron Electronics continues to support its dealer base with time and money-saving updates. Today, Lutron is pleased to announce a major update to its HomeWorks QS software which simplifies the integration of Ketra and HomeWorks QS systems. Additionally, a new, space-saving DIN rail panel with integrated AFCI breakers, eliminates the need for additional panels.

Lutron + Ketra = Powerful light, personal control
The HomeWorks QS software update leverages Lutron’s recent acquisition of Ketra, the Texas-based lighting company whose Natural Light LED solutions provide the highest-quality light — light that seamlessly emulates daylight in interior spaces.

Ketra lighting and control solutions create high-quality white, pastels and saturated colors, which enhance the look of any space and allow you to precisely tailor the light to meet the needs of the space. The software update lets integrators import Ketra Design Studio programming directly into a Lutron HomeWorks QS database, reducing programming time and costs. Additionally, homeowners will enjoy a more seamless control experience by using the same keypads to control both Ketra and HomeWorks QS systems.

Importing Ketra Design Studio programming into a HomeWorks QS database is simple. As long as Ketra Design Studio is installed on the computer and the user is logged in, the HomeWorks QS software can easily pull in Ketra projects and assign scenes to buttons.

The software will be available for download in the fourth quarter of 2018.

A new DIN rail Panel
The new DIN rail panel has integrated AFCI breakers, eliminating the need for wiring and extra panels, making for a cleaner and faster installation. DIN rail modules live directly on the QS link, meaning there’s no need for a dedicated panel link to control motor loads. In addition, DIN rail modules support remote system management (RSM) so dealers can easily monitor the device status and remotely discover and troubleshoot issues.

The motor module controls four independent motors with mechanically interlocked bi-directional motor relays capable of handling 5A or 1/4HP, with a max of 16A per module. It provides control of large motors such as exterior hurricane shutters, gates and lifts, allowing them to be directly controlled from the HomeWorks QS system.

The new DIN AFCI panel and motor module will begin shipping Q1 2019.
